Weekly Design Challenge: Rebrand a Coffee Shop
This week's challenge: Create a complete brand identity for a fictional specialty coffee shop. Include logo, color palette, typography choices, and at least one mockup. Submit your work by Sunday!
Just finished my rebrand concept for a local bakery!
After taking the Brand Identity masterclass, I decided to practice with a real project. Here's my take on rebranding a neighborhood bakery - would love your feedback on the color choices.
Best approach for designing a scalable icon system?
I'm working on an icon set for a SaaS product and struggling with consistency across different sizes (16px, 24px, 32px). Any tips on grid systems or workflows you use?
My submission for the coffee shop challenge
Went with a minimalist approach. The concept is "Morning Ritual" - clean lines, earthy tones, and a custom logotype inspired by Japanese coffee culture.

Great explanation of color psychology, Alan! Really helped clarify some concepts for my current project. What are your thoughts on using triadic color schemes for corporate branding?
Thanks, Sarah! Triadic schemes can be vibrant and dynamic, but they need careful balancing for corporate use. I'd suggest picking one dominant color and using the other two for accents. Keep practicing!
Loving the practical exercises! The color mood board template was exactly what I needed. Already applied it to my coffee shop challenge entry.
The warm tones work beautifully here. Have you considered adding a slightly darker accent for the packaging?
Good point! I was thinking about a deep burgundy for the labels. Something like #722F37 to complement the kraft paper.
That burgundy would work perfectly! It gives that artisan feel without going too dark. Try it on the sleeve wraps too.
Great work Sarah! The logo is clean and memorable. I'd suggest exploring a hand-drawn element to add warmth - maybe a subtle wheat or grain illustration in the secondary marks.
Thank you Alan! Love the wheat idea - I'll try sketching a few variations tonight and post an update tomorrow.
The color palette is so cohesive! Have you thought about the packaging for different roast levels? Like a lighter shade for light roast and darker for dark roast?
